“Great, but when can I Run Again?” Breaking Down Various Injury Timeframes for Returning to Running

Doctors of Running Podcast, Episode 163

The majority of runners will get injured every year, and the first question we often find ourselves asking is, "how long until I can run again?" In this episode, Matt & Nathan broadly explore the healing timeframes for a variety of common injury types. They give an insight into what's happening at a cellular level when we get injured and then heal over time. Then they dive into how long it takes common tissue types (muscles, tendons, bones) to heal from differing severities of injuries. Finally they give you some practical tips and tests to asses your own healing process from their hands-on experience as PTs.

This episode of the Doctors of Running Podcast is Sponsored by Running Warehouse. Fall is here and winter is coming, which means it’s time to get your cold weather gear in line. Just because it’s chilly though, doesn’t mean it has to be uncomfortable. Take the ultra soft logo long sleeve from Saysky. A team favorite, it’s moisture wicking, super stretchable to the body, and a delight to run any distance in. The rabbit EZ collection has been a favorite since day one for the team, and their EZ joggers are no exception. We’re completely unashamed to say we’ve gone from run to lounge in these joggers many a weekend. Finally, for you morning run warriors who have to embrace the darkness, the Brooks Run Visible Collection provides both comfort and 360 degree visibility. For all of these and more, Running Warehouse has you covered from top to bottom with their Fall Outerwear Shop for both men & women. Head over to Running Warehouse to start shopping today.
